Heidi Wachter is an Aquatic Scientist/Stream Ecologist
with Taylor Associates, Inc. She has been working in this field since 1995.
Her experience is in biological, chemical, and physical stream monitoring
and assessment, project management, and public education/volunteer coordination.
Since 1995, she has combined her experience and education across the fields
of environmental engineering and aquatic science to address research questions
and problems related to in-stream habitat conditions and surface water quality.
Ms. Wachters experience in the aquatic sciences includes lotic benthic
invertebrate sampling and assessment, flow and water quality monitoring, geomorphic
surveys, and stream habitat and fisheries data collection. As a scientist
with the firm, Ms. Wachter is involved with projects on both a technical and
project management level. Her responsibilities include: working with government
agencies; collection, management, and analysis of monitoring data; training
and managing field personnel to implement monitoring programs; operating and
maintaining water quality and flow monitoring instruments; developing and
implementing of Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP) for data collection
and analysis; producing technical reports, data summaries, and monitoring
plans; and presenting project results to clients and citizen-organizations.
Prior to joining Taylor Associates, Inc., she worked in the waste reduction
and recycling field for three years.
