Dave Metallo is a Washington State licensed hydrogeologist and project manager at Taylor Associates, Inc. He brings over 16 years of combined experience in surface water quality studies, water flow monitoring, environmental restoration, SEPA/NEPA compliance, waste management, pollution prevention, and watershed and water resource management. Mr. Metallo's academic background includes study in the areas of natural science, geology, and hydrology. In addition, Mr. Metallo has gained several field related certifications, including underground storage tank removal inspector and construction site erosion and sediment control lead. His professional project experience includes investigation, long-term monitoring and remediation of groundwater, soil, sediment, surface water, air, hazardous materials, biohazards and radiological materials. He has aided in the design, supervised construction, and managed the operations and maintenance of various remediation systems for soil and groundwater cleanup. Mr. Metallo has extensive experience in aquifer characterization, pump testing, contaminant plume mapping, and other geologic, and hydrogeologic testing and investigations. More recently, Mr. Metallo has focused on surface water resource protection and non-point pollution projects. He has experience with TMDL development, stream and river sampling techniques, flow measurement, and monitoring equipment installation, maintenance, and sample collection. Prior to joining Taylor Associates, Inc., Mr. Metallo was an operation and project manager for TEC where he was responsible for managing long-term monitoring and investigative projects for the US Navy, US Department of Defense, US Coast Guard, US Air Force, WA Department of Ecology, numerous local municipal governments and a host of private clients. His responsibilities also included fleet and field equipment service center manager, field operations manager and senior staff member of the environmental services group. Mr. Metallo’s upbringing in a family-owned construction company has allowed him to become well versed in many facets of both engineering and construction techniques. He has never strayed very far from his roots and prefers to take a “hands-on” approach to all of his projects, with a special involvement in field tasks, including skills as a confined space enterant, drilling specialist and small works construction manager. His passions are mountaineering, skiing, baseball, woodworking, and his family.
